Perhaps it’s the approaching change of seasons, but I always seem to think of nuclear missile silos in October. (I wonder why! :->) Just a few minutes ago I stumbled upon this National Park which one can visit without fear of being chased away like at that abandoned Titan silo location in CO. The unarmed missle is cover by thick plexiglass and the door is welded open on its rails so the Russian satellites can verify that it is not operational. (SALT treaties and etc.) This is all crazy wierd fun for a crazy like me. So, if I ever happen to find myself driving west across I-90 in Suth Dakota I will visit this park. :)

Besides the obvious WTF, I can say that I have never seen let alone imagined such a form of transportation. ;)

Believe it or not, this actually is technically a Jeep concept. Early on after the Jeep acquisition, AMC wanted an El Camino and Ranchero competitive vehicle. Take the Gremlin / Hornet, add on a pick up truck bed, and a Jeep logo and you have the result. Fortunately, this creative attempt did not go to production. (Perhaps I should post the tailgate or you can just Google this vehicle if you need to see it for yourself.)
I love these concepts.
